Student Start Up Business Center is a platform at VU to foster entrepreneurial spirit in the students and to provide them conducive environment to nurture their business ideas into successful business ventures.

What we desire:

Creative, Innovative and technology powered business ideas are invited in all areas, however we encourage business ideas in the following sectors/areas.

1. E-commerce / Retail (For all product categories from B2B & B2C)

2. Edu Tech (Educational business using technology)

3. Fintech (Using technology to offer branchless banking or banking like services)

4. Solar Tech (Renewable sources of energy)

5. IOT (Web/App-enabled smart devices that use embedded systems)

6. Food Business (Provision & Handling of food using technology)

7. Logistics (resources acquired, stored, and transported to final destination)

8. Health Tech (Health services using technology)

9. Agriculture, Meat & Dairy

10. Drinking Water & Beverages

11. Domestic & Industrial Waste Management

Businesses based on market gaps and using technology are historically ultimate winners.

Who can participate?

u Only currently enrolled active students of Virtual University of Pakistan are eligible to apply for business ideas.

u Students enrolled in short courses, diplomas, deficiency semester and zero semester cannot apply.

u Oversees students and VU employees who are enrolled as VU student are not eligible to apply.

Terms & Conditions:

u One student will be allowed to submit only one business idea; either individually or in a team.

u A team should not be comprised of more than two members.

u Each individual/team needs to submit innovative business idea and must not copy from any source.

u Shortlisted business ideas will be invited for submission of full business plans.

u Only practical and financially viable business plans will be shortlisted for presentation.

u The business idea’s financial worth should not exceed Rs. 500,000.
